When looking around Northern Colorado for a new home for your family, you’ll likely be lured into a brand new neighborhood being built by a contruction company. While these neighborhoods do have some drawbacks, buying a newly constructed home in a brand new Northern Colorado neighborhood can be a great financial decision.
Obviously, when you buy a new construction home everything is brand new. You have a new roof, new hot water heater, new furnace, and all new appliances. This is a major advantage over buying a home that may need a new water heater or major repair work. These items can be very costly if you aren’t budgeting for them. While you can buy a home warranty policy that will cover these types of changes, having a brand new home saves you a major hassle.
Now, remember, just because the home is brand new doesn’t mean there won’t be problems. Often times, especially with national builders who put up homes very quickly, mistakes are made. Most home builders offer a 1 year warranty so you can have any problems fixed by them within that first year.
