Loveland Colorado is full of wonderful outdoor recreational experiences and the fabulous open lands program has brought us many great public open spaces. Today we’ll focus on a small open space with river access called Boise Bend Natural Area. Boise Bend Natural Area is owned by the City of Loveland and allows the public to park in the small parking lot to gain access to the Big Thompson River. You can fish or just relax near the calming water of the Big T rolling by. The short trail makes a loop which is great for small children or anyone just looking for a few minutes of quiet time.

You can access Boise Bend Natural Area off of Boise Avenue. It is south of First Street and north of Highway 402. The parking lot is on the west side of Boise Avenue just south of the river.

You can park in the parking lot and access the Big Thompson river by following the trail. The short Loveland hiking trail makes a small loop and takes you back to your car.
