Whether you are a long time resident, newer to Northern Colorado or considering a move to Windsor, CO, one question people always have is “What are the best restaurants in Windsor, CO?”. This is a list of the places that I enjoy eating, drinking and hanging out. I might have missed some. Send me a message if you have a favorite that I left of of my list of Restuarants in Windsor Colorado.
For a town of over 40,000 people, Windsor surprisingly doesn’t have a lot of restuarants or bars. I’m sure it is because we are so close to Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley. Honestly, Windsor is lacking in good fast food options. In town we have the big burger joints but where are the better fast food options like Qdoba, Noodles, Five Guys, Canes, Chipotle, and others?

My Favorite Restuarants in Windsor, CO
In no particular order:
Chili Thai
My family likes Chili Thai for Chinese and Thai food. The options are delicious, they are pretty quick and they are super friendly for pick up and to-go orders. It’s also a nice place to go in and meet a friend for lunch or dinner. I’ve had a few business meeting here and it worked great. Again, I thought the food was good, it’s priced reasonably, the location is convenient and the staff is friendly. Definielty check it out the next time you’re hungry for Chinese food.
Sol de Jalisco
This is a great spot for Mexican food. The carnitas is awesome. I also love their giant burritos and the Margaritas are good. The restaurant has great ambiance and the staff is generally pretty good. This is a good spot for the whole family to celebrate, date night or a business lunch meeting. You won’t regret eating at Sol de Jalisco.
Windsor Mill Tavern
This is a super fun place to hang out. We usually bring our out of town guests to the The Windsor Mill Tavern because its a super cool spot in the basement of the old Windsor Mill Building. The food is really good and their specialty drinks are great too. I personally love a good Old Fashioned and they nail it. The food and drinks feel a bit over priced but it’s a fun place to hang out with friends for a special occasion or date night.
Mash Lab
Mash Lab is a Brewery and Restaurant located off of Crossroads Boulavard. It’s not in the downtown Windsor area but it is really convenient for people in Raindance and Highland Meadows. The craft beer available at Mash Lab is as good or better than most craft breweries in the area. They recently built a new resuarant and moved the brewery next door from the original spot. The new building is fantastic plus they have a nice large outdoor patio space that often times has a band on weekends or during happy hour.
The food at Mash Lab is better than I had hoped for. The barbecue is fantasic. Order the burnt end for an appetiser and you won’t regret it. Wash it down with a Hazy IPA. You’ll love it.
Cacciatore at Heller’s Kitchen
The food at Cacciatore is fantastic. This is a great place for date night, business lunches or a family dinner. This italian restaurant is also located in the historic Windsor Mill building in downtown Windsor. I’m still thinking about the dish I ordered last time and plotting to return. There is also a nice bar with all of the drink options.
Betta Gumbo
Here’s a great newer spot in downtown Windsor to eat and hang out. They serve traditional cajun food and have many specialty drinks that feature moonshine. This casual restaurant makes a great family dinner spot or a great start to a night out on the town. You’ll love Betta Gumbo.
Windsor Lake Coffee
Windsor Lake Coffee is located at the corner of 5th Street and Main in Downtown Windsor. It’s a great place to stop by for a coffee or a delicious sandwhich for lunch. They have quite a bit of room inside but in the summer you can order through the side window and enjoy coffee, breakfast or even ice cream in the outdoor seating area. It’s also really nice to grab an ice cream and walk over to Windsor Lake.
